Tuesday, January 26, 2010: Transportation Task Force Open House
The Lents Neighborhood Association is hosting an open house for the Lents Town Center Urban Renewal Area Transportation Task Force (TTF) on January 26, 2010 starting at 6 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8835 SE Woodstock. The association will conduct its general meeting from 7-8:00 p.m., with the open house continuing afterwards until 9 p.m.
This is a public meeting open to anyone interested in learning more about past, present, and future transportation projects within the Lents Town Center URA. The Task Force has held two public meetings previously to discuss the range of eligible projects and determine a potential list of priorities based on specific evaluation criteria.
PDC and Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) staff will be available to help people navigate the long list of unfunded projects and discuss a preliminary list of recommended projects to fund in the next five years. We welcome public comments, which will inform a final recommendation by the Task Force on priorities for transportation projects, to be presented to the Lents Town Center Urban Renewal Area Advisory Committee in March 2010.
PDC uses tax increment financing to leverage other city, state, and federal transportation funds to build streetscape improvements, fix residential streets and install traffic calming projects, and provided funds to help build the MAX Green Line. These public investments are focused on creating jobs, enticing private investment, and revitalizing commercial corridors like the Lents Town Center and its surrounding neighborhoods.
For more info on the TTF, and the materials that were presented at the previous meetings, please visit the project website.
